The Senior Monthly Award Winner for January is Sam Tait for Alpine Ski-ing.
Sam received the senior award for January 2020 for his career breakthrough performance at the 2019-2020 World Para-alpine Skiing European Cup. Competing in Slovakia, Sam won a gold medal in the men’s giant slalom sitting which was his first podium finish in an international event.
The Junior Monthly Award Winner for January is Emily Rodger for Cricket.
In January 2020, Emily received the junior award for her achievements in Cricket. Emily was a member of the Illawarra Zone All-girls U14 representative team that played in a three-game regional cricket competition, The Thunder Cup. She also played in the girls only Burrawang/Robertson team in the HDCA competition. Her stats were 20th in batting and 2nd in fielding and she finished the season with the Stage 2 HDCA fielding award.
February
The Senior Monthly Award Winner for February is Nic Milner for Running.
Nic was the February winner for 2020. He competed in the 25km Australian Alpine Ascent and placed first out of a field of 380 competitors. Incredibly, he stopped mid race to assist an unconscious fellow competitor and ran to get him help. Even with this humanitarian detour, he ran a personal best for this course 2.08.54. Previously he had run 2.13.50.
